Just a couple of weeks on from our first visit to the plot, we returned again — quietly checking in, making sure everything has been watered, and seeing what’s changed. And already… things are growing. Our garlic is pushing through, strong and steady. The lettuce is starting to form, soft and vibrant. Parsley, courgette, and radish are slowly finding their place. And the edible flowers — planted just one to two weeks ago — are beginning to grow too. Not flowering just yet, but the first signs are there, gently coming through. It’s early. But it’s happening. There’s something we didn’t expect to notice quite so much — the sound. The birds are constant. Calm, steady, uninterrupted. If you listen to the video we’ve just shared, you’ll hear it clearly. That natural soundtrack, that quiet energy — it’s something that stays with you. And somehow, it connects back to everything we do. This small plot might seem simple, but it reflects something much bigger. At our restaurant in Ely, we focus on: Fresh, seasonal ingredients, Locally sourced produce, High-quality British meats, Food that is prepared fresh to order. From our steakhouse menu in Ely, to our burgers, breakfast, and coffee, everything is built around quality. This allotment is just another step in that journey — a quiet reminder that great food always starts at the beginning. We’ve always believed that the best dishes don’t come from complexity — they come from care. Carefully selected cuts of steak, Properly sourced ingredients, Simple combinations done well. Whether it’s a burger in Ely, a perfectly cooked steak, or a morning coffee, it all comes back to the same principle: Quality first. A visit to Griddle Bar & Meat House is about more than just food. It’s about: A relaxed breakfast or brunch in Ely, A casual lunch with friends, A memorable dinner or date night, Great coffee and atmosphere in Ely. We want people to feel connected — not just to the food, but to where it comes from. This is still the early stage of something we’ve only just started. A small plot. A simple idea. A slow process. But already, it’s teaching us something valuable — that time, patience, and care are everything. We’ll keep sharing the journey as it grows.
